call the police and report it right away…
This wouldn’t actually be considered identity theft. It may be considered fraud, but at 15 years old you can’t enter into any legal contract. So they legally cannot require you to pay that bill anyway. It seems that she was your guardian at that time, so she would be liable anyway.
I think you are misunderstanding what identity theft is. Identity theft is a very serious crime, and is much more serious than something like credit card fraud. For example, stealing someone’s credit card and using it would be called credit card fraud. Stealing someones ss# and using that to open up a credit card and use other things like take out loans etc… would be considered identity theft.
Please remember that the terms are not interchangable.
I would contact the police, or have one of your parents do it for you. She is ruining your good name and credit-how horrible! I would also think about investing in identity theft protection-if you dont have the money for it, ask your parents to buy it for you! My family and I have identity theft protection through SOLUS. If you had this in place already, known of this would have gotten this far and you wouldnt have to worry about what to do-because they do everything for you! Their website is Good Luck and Im sorry that this has happened to you.
