I am sick of the threat against my future by someone getting a hold of my government issue SSN and using my good credit to steal from me. This affect everyone.

Why isn’t it incumbant on Credit companies to verify with exact certainty who they are actually issuing credit to? Why is it not required in this day and age of high tech security to make damn sure when giving credit you know exactly who you are giving it to? This is an issue that affects millions directly and all of us indirectly.
No I have not been a victim of this crime yet, but by brother was. I now pay to protect my information.

Politicians don’t like to talk about theft, their afraid it might get folks to thinking..
That is individual criminals for the most part, and it is a local law enforcement issue most often, and sometimes a federal law enforcement issue, and it is prosecuted vigorously.
If you want to discuss a gap, debt collection agencies can send you a bill for a debt you never owed using the same informantion, hoping you will pay it, and they can try to ruin your credit, and it is up to you to work with the credit reporting agencies to correct the reporting, and you must hire an attorney to seek damages from the agency, and you must follow a process where you send them certified letters disputing all of this, and they do this en masse to litterally millions of Americans with impunity for the most part, and the most egragarious offendors might eventually be fined into bankruptcy (as a company), but nobody goes to jail for this, and people are getting rich from it.
Why aren’t these people going to jail too?
Just like congress allows the credit card company’s to charge
loanshark rates, identiy theft is of no concern! Do you see the congress bailing out the homeowners who are in foreclosure but if you remember after 911 the government gave the airlines 20 BILLION or so to bail them out and it’s not
the first time.
Because none of the candidates are really who they claim to be.
